Kimberly Raymond, PhD

Qualitative Scientist and Scientific Communication Consultant

I am a qualitative research scientist and medical writer with over 15 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, and healthcare organizations through rigorous qualitative research and high-quality scientific communications. My work focuses on understanding patient, clinician, and stakeholder experience and translating complex qualitative and clinical insights into clear, meaningful, and actionable evidence.

I hold a PhD in Human Development and Family Science, with advanced training in qualitative methodology, behavioral science, and counseling. My academic and clinical training shaped an approach to research grounded in careful listening, analytical depth, and respect for the lived experiences that sit behind health data. Over the course of my career, I have designed and conducted hundreds of in-depth interviews with patients, caregivers, clinicians, and key opinion leaders across a wide range of therapeutic areas, including rare disease, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, respiratory disease, infectious illness, and behavioral health.

For more than a decade, I have worked extensively in health outcomes and patient-centered research, supporting qualitative and mixed-methods studies that inform clinical development, real-world evidence generation, and strategic decision-making. My experience includes concept elicitation and cognitive interviewing, patient journey and burden-of-illness research, and qualitative work supporting the development and refinement of clinical outcome assessments and patient-reported outcomes. I have collaborated closely with cross-functional teams across clinical development, regulatory, HEOR, and medical communications to ensure that patient and stakeholder perspectives are meaningfully integrated into research and evidence strategies.

In parallel, I have developed a strong portfolio of scientific and medical writing across manuscripts, abstracts, posters, study reports, and strategic research communications. I am particularly experienced in synthesizing complex qualitative and clinical data into clear, publication-ready and decision-relevant narratives. My work spans peer-reviewed publications, conference materials, evidence summaries, and scientific content designed to support research dissemination and stakeholder engagement.

I bring a thoughtful, rigorous, and collaborative approach to every project, with a commitment to producing work that is both methodologically sound and clearly communicated. My goal is to help organizations generate and communicate insights that are scientifically robust, strategically meaningful, and grounded in a deep understanding of human experience.

“Behind every data point is a human experience waiting to be understood.”
